Easily Create Tables in WordPress with TablePress
Creating tables, especially ones that look nice, can be difficult for beginners.
This tutorial will show you how to easily create tables in WordPress. Plus, they’ll look great!
Let’s get started.
Install
We’ll use the TablePress plugin for WordPress.
Go to:
- Plugins -> Add New
- Search for “TablePress”
- Install Now and active the plugin
Add New Table
After activating the plugin, go to:
- TablePress -> Add New Tables
- Fill out the form
- Click the “Add Table” button when done
Fill in Table
Fill in your table rows and columns.
Manipulate Table
Below the table, you’ll see some buttons that allow you to manipulate the table.
I’m going to go ahead and add another two rows to my example table.
Two more rows were inserted at the bottom.
To work with any of the other table manipulation buttons, use the select checkboxes.
Options
TablePress comes with another of different options that you can choose. I recommend leaving the defaults. Only change them if you see something you want to improve.
Save and preview
When you’re done creating your table, be sure to save it. Then preview it to make sure it looks good.
Embed the table
Finally, the last step is to insert the table.
To the right of the table name, you’ll see the shortcode. Copy the it.
Paste the shortcode into your page or post. Then save and preview your content.
Final result
Voila! That’s one good looking table. Great job!
