How to Give WordPress Videos to All Your Customers
The OSToolbar is a great way to provide OSTraining videos to your customers.
You can give your webdesign customers WordPress videos, and they can all be watched directly from inside their site. No more confused phone calls. No more emails asking about simple WordPress features. Give them the OSToolbar, and they can watch and learn the WordPress basics for themselves. The OSToolbar is one of great benefits enjoyed by members at ostraining.com. We also have a Joomla version of the OSToolbar.
Here’s how to use the OSToolbar and to give it to your customers.
Step 1: Download the OSToolbar
Login to ostraining.com and click Watch Videos in Your Site.
There are two things to do on this page:
- Click Download OSToolbar to the get the files for the OSToolbar.
- Copy your API Key. We’re going to use that in a few moments, after the OSToolbar has been installed.
Step 2: Install the OSToolbar into a WordPress site
Login to your WordPress site and go to Plugins > Add New.
Click Upload at the top of the page.
Browse to find the OSToolbar file that you just downloaded and click Install Now.
Click Activate Plugin.
Step 3: Enter Your API Key
Go to Settings > OSToolbar.
Enter your API Key from ostraining.com and click Save Changes.
Step 4: Start Watching the VIdeos
Go to OSToolbar in the left-hand menu.
You’ll now see a list of all the available tutorials.
Click on a video title and start watching the videos!
Question: How Many Sites Can I Use The OSToolbar On?
We buiilt the OSToolbar so that webdesigners can provide their clients with great training videos.
You are welcome to install the OSToolbar on all of your own and your wedesign clients’ websites.
My wordpress site does not have a “plugin” option.
Hi Kristin
Do you see much in the left-hand column? Can you see Appearance, Plugins, Users, Tools or Settings?
What a great feature! My sales pitch relies on convincing my clients that they can update their site themselves. I was planning on creating videos for them but your stuff is so much better.
I’m really looking forward to having the option to customize which videos are available. Is there an ETA for that?
Hi shanunkara
Glad to hear it’s helpful! Yes, it’s literally the next feature on the list. We already have the functionality and the user interface built on our side so that we can load videos into the OSToolbar.
We’re just working on transferring that to into your component now.
Good stuff. This is definitely going into all of my clients’ sites.
One more thing I’d REALLY love to see. I’d like the OSTraining section to contain an up-sell of sorts, which would entice my clients to purchase a membership with OST through my affiliate link. The commission could go into my account as credits for my membership.
Tell me you can do that. C’mon 🙂
Hi shaunkara
Ah, OK. So something more tightly integrated with our system than the current affiliate program? http://www.ostraining.com/i…
I know about the affiliate program. In fact I have a pending application.
But what I’m suggesting is to actually capitalize on the OSToolbar idea for affiliate marketing. If my clients are seeing your vids in the site I build them, then there’s a good chance they might be interested in subscribing to your services. The signup link would obviously be an affiliate link.
Thanks shaunkara
Absolutely. I’ll send you an email and see if we can get something like this working for you.
If you can’t see the plugin upload menu, select the ‘Add New’ link on the Plugins page.
Hi John Loty, a new member here.
Just installed the WP OS Toolbar and got to the settings (to enter the API number) but could not proceed because all that was shown was: –
OSToolbar Configuration
Plugin Settings
with no place to enter the API
Hi John
What do you see if you go Settings > OSToolbar? Is there an API Key area there?
Yes – again I finally figured it out…sometimes quickly…sometimes slowly 🙂
