Introducing BoldGrid, the WordPress Website Builder
The new Gutenberg editor is nearly here and the WordPress landscape is about to change in a big way.
Many plugins are themes are going to be impacted. In particular, people are curious how page-builder plugins such as Beaver Builder and Visual Composer will respond. The answer, looking at BoldGrid, another popular plugin in the same niche, is to do more. BoldGrid doesn’t just build pages, it builds complete websites. It allows you to build an entire WordPress website without any code and in a ridiculously short amount of time.
BoldGrid provides layouts, themes, an SEO plugin and more. It also has developer-friendly tools such as Staging plugin and a Backup plugin. All-in-all, it offers far more than BoldGrid will ever offer. It’s a website builder, rather than a page builder.
In the video below, Rod gives you an introduction to BoldGrid. You’ll find it a really interesting contrast to the approach of Gutenberg.

So, is it time to quit Joomla and learn wordpress? I’m a YooTheme guy and have been using Joomla for 6 years, with about 60 sites under my belt. I’m very familiar with it and do enjoy it… but it seems if I want latest tech and the best/modern plugins.. WordPress is where I should be? Anyone else made the transition? Help!
Hi Tom. There are bunch of really good page managers available for Joomla too. Yootheme is more on the whole-site builder line, like BoldGrid. https://www.joomlashack.com/blog/tutorials/joomla-page-builder/
Nice way of creating and changing a site in WordPress.
I will try it out next time I am in exploration mode.
Is there a similar approach for Drupal, kind of “Yes, there is a module for that.”?
Hi Arne. They are trying to add some of these drag-and-drop tools to the Drupal core https://www.ostraining.com/blog/drupal/new-layout-builder/
Hallo Arne, there are some on envato marketplace. Often bundled with a certain Drupal theme. Apart from those, there is Glazed Builder by Sooperthemes. As mentioned before, Drupal gets a Layout-Builder and there is Paragraphs module.
