Simple Renew: the New Joomla Subscription Extension

Here at OSTraining, we’ve made a lot of mistakes in building this site.

It’s been really hard to run a successful subscription site. A couple of years ago, we wrote about the lessons we learned during the first years of this site.

Based on those lessons learned, we’ve been building the best and most reliable subscription software we possibly can.

That software is called Simple Renew, and today we released it for free.

If you want to build a Joomla membership site, here are some details about Simple Renew.

What do I need to use Simple Renew

  • A Joomla 3 site.
  • A Recurly.com account.

What payment gateways does Simple Renew support?

Via Recurly.com, we support these gateways:

  • Authorize.net
  • Beanstream
  • Braintree
  • Chase
  • CyberSource
  • Little & Co.
  • Merchant e-Solutions
  • PayPal
  • Stripe
  • Recurly Gateway

Where can I download Simple Renew?

  • Via the “Install from Web” feature on Joomla 3 sites, or …
  • Via the homepage, or …
  • Via Github.

How does Simple Renew compare to other Joomla membership extensions?

It has far less features. That’s by design. Simple Renew is simple, reliable and easy-to-use.

It has 1000’s fewer features than most other membership gateways.

Will you add more features?

Yes, we will.

The core of Simple Renew will always be completely free to download, radically simple and refreshingly easy-to-use.

We will also provide some commercial plugins to add more advanced features. These will likely arrive with the first stable version of Simple Renew.

I still have more questions

Great! Leave a comment below or contact us. We’d love to hear from you.

Just wanted to let you know: The last 3 links in the article do not work?! SimpleRenew has some strange trailing characters, the two “about” links lead to 404’s.
