What Classes Would You Like to See on OSTraining?
Before the end of 2012, there will be over 1000 training sessions on ostraining.com.
Even with that much training, I’m sure there are extra classes you’d like to have added:
- Perhaps you’d like a Joomla class on Virtuemart or Hikashop?
- Perhaps you’d like a Drupal class on subscription sites or the Omega theme?
- Perhaps you’d like a WordPress class on SEO or responsive design.
- Perhaps you’d like a coding class on Javascript or HTML5?
With the launch of our new site, we now have an OSTraining Ideas area. You can suggest and vote for the classes that you’d like to see added to OSTraining.
Would love to see a class on locking down a Joomla site to keep it safe from malware, etc!
That class we already have 🙂

I deployed a couple of VM sites a couple of years ago and it was just a little too “hoakey”. Felt very hackish and the integration was just not “right” (cannot put it in better words). I have seen Tienda and read the forums and it seems like it has stalled in dev, at least the forums only show people really unhappy with the support (or lack thereof), are there any other “good” ecommerce solutions (native to Joomla)?
Class(es) on how to do extension development.
I’d like to see a tutorial on how to import a Dreamweaver site into Joomla. Thanks!
@savethefrogs Interesting one, thanks. That probably be a tutorial more than a class, but that would actually make it easier for us to do.
I’d like to see a class on login issues such as when one logs in incorrectly ugly redirects occur. I’d like to know how to create a redirect page for the user to try again or stay on the same page and allow the user to try again. I’ve never created a site that allowed logins and I’m doing one now and the redirects are ugly. I am using a rocket theme template. I don’t know if that matters.

I’d like to see some ideas on practices to follow when making sites mobile friendly. Some does and don’ts, if you will.
