Drupal: You have not created any content types yet

Drupal You have not created any content types yet

Some times we write long blog posts with detailed, technical explanations.

Other times we write about very quick and simple fixes. This is one of those very quick posts.

We’ve had questions from OSTraining members about an error message on Drupal’s Add content page. The message they get is: “You have not created any content types yet”.

They get that message despite the fact that they click on Structure > Content types and can see that they clearly do have content types:

The solution to this problem is to go to Structure > Menus and click “list links” next to the Navigation menu:

Make sure that all the boxes are enabled for the Add content menu and sub-menus:

Click the “Save config” button and the problem should be fixed.

After migrating a Drupal 7 test site to a stage area for client review, I came across this very annoying bug. I had done this before on other sites and did not have the same problem. Thank you, your solutions worked and it’s much appreciated.
