Turn Off Comments in WordPress with Disable Comments Plugin
One of our users asked for a quick way to disable comments globally in WordPress. By using the Disable Comments plugin, it’s easy to solve this request.
In this short tutorial, I’m going to show you how to disable comments with a few clicks.
Install the Disable Comments plugin
- Login to your WordPress site.
- Go to Plugins > Add new and search for “Disable Comments”.
- Click “Install Now” and activate the plugin.
Option #1. Disable comments globally
To disable comments temporarily from your entire site, go to:
- Settings
- Disable comments
- Select “Everywhere”
- Save changes
Option #2 Disable comments per post type
To disable comments per post type temporarily:
- Select “On certain post types”
- Check the post types
- Save changes
Option #3. Persistent mode: warning!
The option “Use persistent mode” would apply changes in the database and keep comments disabled even if you deactivate the plugin later. Be very careful if you choose this option.
